11-year-old bystander shot in Tower Village altercation

Press release from Alachua County Sheriff’s Office

Shortly after 08:00 a.m. this morning, deputies responded to Tower Village regarding a reported shooting. Upon arrival, deputies located two persons suffering from gunshot wounds, a 20-year-old and an 11-year-old.

Investigation revealed that a physical altercation broke out between neighbors, with one neighbor being beaten extensively, and that neighbor was a concealed weapons permit holder. He took out his weapon and fired. The 20-year-old combatant was struck, and the 11-year-old was struck by an errant bullet. At this time, no charges have been filed against the 37-year-old shooter, and it appears that the shooter acted in self-defense. However, the investigation continues.

  • Another shooting in the heart of Springs County. Damn that is going to be one dangerous county to live in. The new Wild West.

  • Tower village, Isn’t that low income section 8 housing? That can
    Stay in commie Alachua county..

  • Yet the liberal elitists cry with just the mention of a “Springs County.” I guess they’re worried they may lose their way of life if they lose their tax base.

At least in “Springs County” he still had the right to possess a firearm to defend himself. Good luck with that in $o¢iali$t controlled Alachua County.

    Keep believing…
