18-year-old on probation arrested for unlawful possession of firearms
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Clarence Rudolph Coleman Jr., 18, was arrested yesterday on a warrant for possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent and unlawfully carrying a concealed firearm.
Gainesville Police Department’s Gun Violence Unit reviewed Coleman’s social media accounts and reported that on February 22, Coleman shared a video that showed his full body, including his ankle monitor. In the video, Coleman reportedly pulls a brown Glock-style pistol with a black magazine plate from his waistband, “flashing it continuously at the camera.” An officer noted that it appears to be a real gun, based on the barrel size and the style of the firearm.
The video was made outdoors at TIger Bay Apartments, and an officer reported that Coleman’s ankle monitor placed him at Tiger Bay Apartments at the time the video was posted.
On March 22, Coleman reportedly shared another video that shows him inside a room; he reportedly makes “suspected gang signs” at the camera and then pulls a brown pistol from his sweatshirt pocket and “flashes” it at the camera. Later in the video, the pistol can be seen more clearly, including the black back plate.
An officer reported that Coleman’s ankle monitor placed him at his residence on Castle Drive all day on March 22.
On March 23, Coleman reportedly shared another video in which he points two pistols at the camera; one is black, and one is brown. An officer reported that both appear to be real guns, based on the barrel size and style of the pistols. The video was made in a room that appears to be a recording studio; there is a screen and a microphone, and Coleman is wearing headphones. A fence and shrubbery can be seen in the background.
An officer reported that Coleman’s ankle monitor placed him at a recording studio in the 2700 block of NW 6th Street at the time the video was posted, and the area is consistent with the background seen in the video.
Coleman has been charged with unlawfully carrying a concealed firearm and possession of a firearm by an adjudicated delinquent under 24 years of age. He is on juvenile probation for unlawfully carrying a concealed weapon, and Judge Adam Lee set bail at $150,000.

Gotta hate when you are stupid enough to convict yourself.
Not the sharpest tool in the shed
And yet we keep footing the bill for this lot.
The CITY commission of Gainesville spent thousands of dollars a year to pervent gun violence instead of wasting that money put these little bastards in jail and keep them there instead of let him run loose. They know we’re not to possessGun yet they do it anyway no amount of gun laws is gonna stop it.
Police monitoring social media for guns is gun violence prevention! …how sharp are your tools to sort this out?Locking them up at $200/day adds up to thousands of $$ as well. Giving him 20 yr is $1.5 million and he’s 38 when he gets out with no skills or job prospects unless he’s exceptional which doesn’t appear likely given his current predicament.
