19-year-old arrested for sexual activity with minor; woman arrested for threatening him with a gun and “brass knuckles”
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Kaiden Samarrion Davis-Shanks, 19, and Brandy Nicole McGuire, 38, were arrested yesterday after Davis-Shanks allegedly engaged in sexual activity with a minor and McGuire allegedly went with friends and family members to confront him with a gun and “brass knuckles.”
Davis-Shanks has been accused of engaging in sexual activity with a juvenile between the ages of 12 and 16; the activity was reportedly discovered when a family member of the victim found a condom outside her bedroom window.
An Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy reported that Davis-Shanks gave him consent to view text messages on his phone, and the deputy reported that there was a message from the victim saying they would need to stop having sex because the condom was found.
Post Miranda, Davis-Shanks reportedly admitted having intercourse with the victim three or four times over the past month.
McGuire was reportedly part of a group of people who went to Davis-Shanks’ residence to confront him; one member of the group reportedly sent several messages to Davis-Shanks, asking to talk. When they arrived, they knocked on the door and allegedly pushed their way inside when the door opened. McGuire allegedly “had on brass knuckles and armed herself with a gun.”
A resident reportedly said that McGuire pressed her gun to his neck while asking for Davis-Shanks. Davis-Shanks said that McGuire punched him in the face with brass knuckles and pointed a gun at his head.
The deputy reported that a witness who lives across the street heard yelling coming from the balcony and saw several people on the balcony, with McGuire pointing a handgun at people. The witness reportedly took a video that showed McGuire pointing a handgun at three people; the video showed another person grabbing Davis-Shanks and pulling him into the residence, and then everyone left after an altercation inside the residence.
Post Miranda, McGuire reportedly said she was upset that Davis-Shanks was engaging in sexual activity with the minor and that she took her gun to “pistol whip” him but took the clip out of the gun before she left. She reportedly said she did not have brass knuckles but put on rings “specifically to hit Kaiden with.” She said that after the door opened, she took that as an invitation to enter and then found Davis-Shanks on the balcony; she said that when he denied that anything had happened, that caused her to “snap.” She reportedly said she pulled out her gun and pointed it at Davis-Shanks, then “lost it” and punched him.
Davis-Shanks has been charged with two counts of lewd/lascivious battery on a victim between the ages of 12 and 16.
McGuire has been charged with burglary with assault or battery and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
Davis-Shanks has no local adult criminal convictions. Judge Sheree Lancaster ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold him without bail until trial.
McGuire, who works as a security officer according to a court document, has one felony conviction (non-violent) and two misdemeanor convictions (non-violent). Judge Lancaster ordered her held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold her without bail until trial.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
What mother wouldn’t react irrationally about sexual abuse to their minor (child)?
It’s my opinion that Brandy should be granted a bond, i.e, her freedom.
The same type who wouldn’t take kindly to their child being pistol whipped.
Not condoning the behavior but…”the deputy reported that there was a message from the victim saying they would need to stop having sex because the condom was found.”
Two things worth mentioning; they at least used a condom, and nobody got shot.
Let’s be honest, your statement is an implied assertion of condoning behavior. Yes, thank God no one was injured “shot”, but a 19 year old man had no business having sexual relations with a 14yr old. At this point it’s redundant to say she was complicit despite her “text messages”, the child’s frontal lobe isn’t fully developed, she’s irresponsible. I don’t want anyone’s child held at gun point, but in this instance that young man is not the victim; all parties are, especially the 14 yr old.
Uh, no it didn’t.
If it makes you feel better, given the pro-abortion people from the other day, they’re likely to have not only those who label their activities a “call of the wild,” but a means of cleaning up their irresponsible acts as well.
Do not judge this young man unless you have walked a mile in his Nikes
i pray you never have kids. if my son a grown man was sleeping w a minor i wouldn’t care what the other parent did because he is wrong. it doesn’t matter if they used a condom or not…. that’s a child…. and her mother did the right thing, his mom should be teaching him how to be a man, good job he used a condom he wouldn’t last that long in prison w a pregnant middle schooler as a baby mother
Keep praying, but pray for help for this country. Given the direction it’s headed, it needs it far more than I do but I won’t object to any. Although I sincerely doubt if your son was shot you wouldn’t have “minded.” What should her mom have been teaching her? Where was daddy?
While you’re on your knees, ask Him why the United States isn’t referenced in Revelations. The answers to the prior paragraph’s last two questions may help answer that.
Honestly you shouldn’t be asking about the minors dad because you don’t know there situation at home.
Be lucky to know who the dad is
I know one thing – it wasn’t daddy who got arrested for defending his daughter.
I always thought the ‘whore of Babylon’ could be the USA, especially if Kamala is president.
Yet you support a rapist of a 12 year old.
Thank you
She should never been charged street justice. We need more of it.
Hello, I live in the apartment that they broke into. We have no issue with what she did to the guy, since when we found out after the arrest we were disgusted. The problem is that they broke in (the article said the door was opened for them, but it wasn’t), and then put a gun to my roommates neck when he tried to figure out why they broke in. This lady deserves to be in prison for her reckless endangerment of people unrelated to the issue.
Obviously there’s not a lot of smart genes in either bloodline. At least they used a condom to keep from procreating.
This is ridiculous! Arresting someone for protecting a minor? If the libtard judicial system would actually punish criminals instead of protecting criminals there would be less of it.
They’re both disgusting, especially the youth.
No the man is disgusting point blank period.
Nothing disgusting about protecting a family member, special child
Honestly I don’t think y’all should be speaking on the minor behalf if y’all don’t know the whole story.
Dude should have gotten the s&#t beaten out of him. These days, there are just no repercussions for such immoral, criminal acts. There needs to be a real fear of what happens if you get caught.
Let the lady out retards
Boy oh boy…they sure start young. I guess it’s a cultural thing. Pop out them babies while they’re young so they be responsible parents….right? However, the jokes on us because WE are the ones paying for the EBT, Section 8, SNAP, Earned (oxymoron) Income Tax credit as these baby daddies take NO responsibility for their offspring.
Free Her
How is she a security officer with a gun if she has a felony conviction?
By law, this 19 year old raped an underage victim. I am guessing that this woman was the victim’s mother.
I don’t think I would have done what she did but I also don’t think any jury would convict her. Guy deserves to go to prison and mom deserves a pat on the back and a ride home.
Holding her without bond?? Ridiculous. Free her,!
Really? We’re ok with her pushing into an apartment, holding a gun to uninvolved people? No way, she’s right where she belongs.
