D’vonte Jamal Jones, 19, was arrested yesterday evening and charged with sexual battery on a 10-year-old boy and showing pornography to a minor.
According to the arrest report, the victim, a 10-year-old boy, reported in a forensic interview that he was visiting Jones at his home when Jones used the threat of physical violence to coerce him into having anal and oral sex. He also said that Jones has shown him pornography and that Jones has been forcing him to have sex since he was 8 years old.
Post Miranda, Jones reportedly admitted that the victim was at his house on the date in question. He also reportedly admitted to the sexual acts but said the victim “came onto him” and “forced him to have sex with him.”
Jones was last arrested in June of 2021 for fleeing and resisting without violence after a motorist reported that a group of men on bicycles had surrounded his car and had thrown a rock at him. Jones then fled from an officer who saw him nearby on a bicycle and tried to make contact with him. Jones entered into a deferred prosecution agreement in August 2021 that required him to refrain from violating the law for 6 months. The agreement was revoked in February for failure to comply with the conditions of the agreement, and that case is now working its way through the court system.
Jones has been charged with sexual battery on a victim under the age of 12 and transmission of material harmful to minors and is being held on $600,000 bail.
