19-year-old on drug offender probation arrested on drug charges

BY JENNIFER CABRERA

ARCHER, Fla. – Jonah Levon Godbolt, 19, was arrested late last night and charged with possession of drugs with intent to sell. He was sentenced to drug offender probation in June on two other cases in which he entered a plea of nolo contendere to two separate charges of possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana, with other charges dropped.

An Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Deputy pulled Godbolt over in Archer for driving 57 mph in a 35 mph zone. The deputy asked Godbolt to get out of the car, and Godbolt reportedly said he was speeding because of the vehicle behind him. He also reportedly denied having any illegal firearms or drugs, but the deputy wrote that he appeared to be nervous.

The deputy wrote that when he approached the vehicle to gather Godbolt’s documents, he could see what appeared to be THC wax in plain view, along with a marijuana bong and a marijuana smoking pipe. The deputy conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and reportedly found a bag with over $7,000 in cash and another bag that contained 133 grams of marijuana. He also reportedly found baggies, two scales, a container of THC, and rubber bands.

Post Miranda, Godbolt reportedly admitted possession of marijuana and THC.

Godbolt has been charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, two counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and possession of drug equipment.

Godbolt was arrested on June 13 on a warrant related to a January sworn complaint. The arresting officer listed charges of possession of marijuana with intent to sell within 1000 feet of a park, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and possession of drug equipment, but Godbolt was only formally charged with possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana.

He was also arrested in May following a single-car crash in which the arresting officer wrote that he appeared to be impaired; he was initially charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of cocaine, and possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana. He was only formally charged with possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana, and he entered a plea of nolo contendere to the two marijuana possession charges, with a sentence of 24 months of drug offender probation running concurrently in the two cases; adjudication of guilt was withheld in both cases. He was also cited for driving 73 mph in a 40 mph zone in early September.

Godbolt is being held on $100,000 bail.

  • Can’t fix those who have no desire to be.

Should have pulled a DeSantis and relocated him to Poe’s or Ward’s neighborhood and told him he wouldn’t be charged as long as he only conducted his business there. They want it, let them have it.

    • Yep. A perfect place for him would be a seat on the Gangsville City Commission. He smokes pot, is a minority, is woke, can easily claim victim status, and violates the law. Perfect! Him and Adrianne can sit together.

  • Useless Kamala and the other dimocraps can’t even manage to legalize cannabis on a federal level while they are still in control of Congress.

      • Might be over as old creepy Joe pissed off half of his woke supporters by characterizing 8.5% inflation as a tiny bump and things are great. He may blow a brain vessel and be in a vegetative state when he finds more and more media won’t lie for him or agree not to ask him regular questions.

      • The new Congress takes over in January. It’s not the 1970s anymore… we have a lot worse drugs nowadays that the police and courts should be taking off the streets instead of spending time and money on weed dealers. We can’t afford it.

  • 100K jail bail for dealin dope? It’s not like it was fentanyl! Not a violent crime. Give the dude a break.

    • the creepy Joe White House won’t mention Fentanyl because he knows most of it is from his Chinese bribe-masters that have him scared to death they’ll dime him out about all the money and “head” him and Hunter got.

    • My argument would be the “comments” are less detrimental and harmful to the community than his alleged drug trafficking.
      Nice try though.

    • Who are they disturbing? Yourself? If so, stop reading them, duh? Did you wet your pants?

  • what does this young man’s arrest have to do with politics 💀💀💀💀 y’all see a young man arrested in your community and go to calling names and bringing race as well as unrelated events such as politics into the mix; demonizing this man for not committing a single violent crime but women abusers and repeat batterers get out the same day no one cares. if you ask me you guys are pretty sick. As well as the fact of him never to be alleged of a trafficking charge people are making up false points to feed into their neo-racially motivated political beliefs which is absolutely detrimental to our communities, nice try though.
