21-year-old man arrested for having intercourse with 14-year-old girl

Staff report

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Lamarious Quantez Williams (AKA La’Marious Quartez Williams, Jr.), 21, has been charged with sexual battery on a juvenile under 16 years old.

The victim told the responding Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy that she met Williams through a friend of hers who is related to Williams, and they initially corresponded through Instagram before Williams asked for her phone number. She said that because she attends the same school as Williams’s relative, he is aware that she is 14 years old.

After texting for some period of time, the victim agreed to let Williams come to her house on April 20; she said he came to her bedroom window wearing a jacket and a black ski mask, and she helped him enter through the window. She said he turned out the lights and told her to get under the covers with him and then started kissing her; she said she wanted to tell him to stop but didn’t because his breath smelled bad. She said they had sexual intercourse.

The victim said they’d had sexual intercourse twice before that incident, but she didn’t remember most of the details from those incidents. The victim gave the deputy the phone number she used to text Williams, and she positively identified him in a photo line-up.

Williams has a juvenile conviction from 2020 and adult criminal charges for grand theft of a vehicle, shoplifting, and trespassing; he has one misdemeanor conviction (non-violent). In 2022, he was found incompetent to proceed with prosecution in the vehicle theft case due to “intellectual disability or autism,” and that case was dropped in November 2024 because two years had passed and there was no evidence that he would attain competence in the near future. However, he did not meet the criteria for involuntary commitment to a mental hospital.

Williams is being held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s office to hold him without bail until trial.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • The good news for Lamarious is when he’s Big Bubba’s bottom in prison, he won’t care what his breath smells like.

  • Trump and DeSantis need to talk to Puerto Rico, about taking this lucrative prisoner market off our hands. SOON.

  • due to “intellectual disability or autism is not a mental illness. If he truly has a disability his guardian or parent needs to be held accountable for not monitoring his travels and social interaction.

  • “she said she wanted to tell him to stop but didn’t because his breath smelled bad.” Huh?

  • Her parents should be charged, it’s not the first time? She doesn’t remember the details, how many other boys have been through that window.
She’s only 14, imagine when she is 21 with 2-3 kids and on assistance.
This is how it starts and we never address the issue, where tf are the parents and what are their priorities cause it clearly aint the child.
The young man has been caught, but it takes two to tango and I heard not allegations of grooming and manipulation.

  • 14-16 is the age boys and girls start to “discover” themselves, lol.
It used to be that abstinence until marriage was taught, then it became about “safe sex”.
At the one point we say, they are just kids….but they smart enough to sneak boys into the window.
At that age of you don’t remember the details of the last two times it’s because it’s been more than a few times, at that age if active you would think it’s only been a couple times max and they remember everything. Let that marinate for a second.

  • Lastly, if this is the third time and she invited him over, what changed that now all of a sudden she says something, or did she get caught and this was the solution blame the male and bear no accountability to her or the parents, if the victim has accountability we don’t blame them but we do counsel them on how they even ended up in the situation in the first place. It was not taken, it was given and that is the true underlying issue.

  • If he has an intellectual disability then how do we know he doesn’t have the mind of a juvenile, which would explain how this could happen, the question still stands that if the parents were raising the child right the boy would have had no access.

    • We also must understand that we teach kids to grow up and be adults, we give the responsibility but they have no legal right “so to speak”.

So being an adult with the mind of a juvenile doesn’t mean he should be locked up, it just means he needs proper supervision because he may not see the hidden dangers or consequences of everything.

Juveniles are not babies they are adolescents whose brains are not fully developed. Therefore it is implied that proper decision making and foresight are not at a level where they can make legally binding decisions. This is why you counsel the child and blame her parents.

The Bible teaches us to have compassion for the disabled and needy, doesn’t mean they should not be held accountable, but compassion and the totality of the situation and circumstances should be taken into effect and given substantial weight.

  • Why is the headline “having intercourse with” instead of sexual assault or battery? She’s14 and he’s 21. This isn’t intercourse.

And this is an honest question – I am curious about why newspapers use gentle euphemisms for sexual assault.

We don’t say, “the bank robber borrowed $5,000 from the teller and then jumped into a getaway car.”

    • For all the reasons, I just stated.
The law is not as black and white as you think, it has provisions for virtually all circumstances.

  • Doubt that only his breath was stinking. He is in need of a haircut and a good washing. Totally agree that the parent(s) or guardian should be held accountable.

  • BET did an article where they found out that 60% of black females are raped before they turn 18 by black men.
