Xavion: Was it worth life in prison?
Mayor Ward , Chief Moya, and the B squared crime task force: I guess he missed the gun violence symposium that was supposed to stop the violence the city is having.. on mothers’s day we had 2 killings, 1 by knife, 1 by gun…what’s going on? Lots of homeless crime too!
Whoops! Our gun violence and homicide stats just went up…
Incarceration works.
Firstly, its crazy your first reaction isn’t empathy for the girl who died. She was an incredibly kind person. Second, Incarceration doesn’t prevent murders, it just reacts to them. The only solution is better public schools and programs to support youth so they don’t end up like Xavion.
How bout the parents of these miscreants raise their children instead of society (us) having to raise (incarcerate) them while the damage has already been done?
At some point, parents are going to realize Gainesville is not a safe place to send their children to school.
And those apartments ‘used to be’ such a nice area. Oh well, there goes the neighborhood.
Want to reduce gun violence? Reduce guns, reduce ammunition.
As long as guns – and ammunition – are easily accessible, with legal loopholes, secondary markets, and illegally, in Gainesville, in Florida, and across the USA, gun violence will not significantly subside.
Stop the guns – stop the ammo: stop gun violence.
The “Kumbaya” approach to reducing gun violence is a folly.
Mayor Bloomberg cut New York’s homicide rate by 50% by arresting people carrying guns illegally. While his tactics were overly aggressive, the lives saves were very significant.
He sho sacrifices liberty For safety gets neither…it’s an axiom…
No we all know it’s a certain segment of the community that is committing the gun crimes that nobody wants to acknowledge and even if you banned the Guns, Ammo they would just use something else and than you ban that and they’re now using hands and feet. You need to lock people up. That keeps them from committing new crimes. I am going to name the group of kids that’s committing all these crimes and I dare you commie liberals to deny it. We all know it’s kids from the East Side those kids in the IB program at East Side High. I’ve been reading about how dangerous it is on the eastside and how life is tougher for eastside kids now I know why it’s all those Eastside White IB kids. I think the they’re in a gang or something that’s why they’re called the IB’s
