5 juveniles shot overnight at American Legion

On Thursday, June 24, 2021, at approximately 10:26 p.m., multiple Gainesville Police Department (GPD) units responded to several calls of shots fired at the American Legion located at 4701 NW 6th Street.
After arriving to the scene, GPD officers discovered four juvenile victims outside and one juvenile victim inside of the American Legion building, all of whom had been shot.
Further investigation revealed that there was a juvenile teen party being held at the American Legion when two shooters exchanged gunfire, leading to the victims being shot.
Currently, there are no suspects in custody. GPD is following several leads and asks anyone who has information about this incident or those involved in the shooting to contact the GPD Detectives Bureau at 352-393-7710 or Alachua County Crime Stoppers at 352-372-7867 or www.stopcrime.tv
