70-year-old Gainesville man arrested on charges of sexual battery on a person under 12

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Walter Keith Wilks, 70, was arrested last night on a warrant for child abuse charges that include sexual battery on a child under 12.
Although no details are available about the case because the victims are minors, the incident happened on July 17, and Wilks has been charged with child abuse without great bodily harm, three counts of sexual battery or attempt on a person under 12, and obstructing justice by threatening a witness, victim, or informant. He is being held on a total bond of $950,000.

Sad that pedophiles come from all ages, backgrounds, and walks of life. Preying on children for gratification is a disease with no cure. No matter the treatment the desire is there. These people screw up so many children’s lives. Only cure is the last breath they exhale.
