Abby Wambach Park restroom renovation is complete

Press release from the City of Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The City of Gainesville’s Wild Spaces & Public Places Department and the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department are pleased to announce completion of the renovation of the restrooms at Abby Wambach Park.

Abby Wambach Park, located at 4501 SW 20th Ave., saw a full renovation of its restroom building. The building’s interior upgrades consist of new toilets, urinals, partitions, countertops, faucets, sinks, diaper changing stations, and lighting. Exterior improvements include a new metal roof, skylights, gutters, and paint. The new restroom design meets accessibility guidelines.

Through a competitive procurement process, TPF Construction Services, LLC was awarded the construction contract at the cost of $109,600.00.

    • Yeah!! Who needs restrooms in parks? These snowflakes don’t want to pee on the sidelines of a soccer game? And also – get off my lawn!

      • It’s a valid question whether tampons are supplied in the men’s restroom or not.
Taxpayers shouldn’t have to foot the bill for someone’s inability to determine what gender they are or their inability to read.

        • This is an excellent facility named after a local legend, but rather than applauding the improvement, let’s investigate the tampon situation. Thank you for zeroing in on the real issue here.

          • For that price, it should be an excellent facility. There’s really no need for an investigation for tampon placement. A simple yes or no will answer the question. Just as simple is whether one has indoor or outdoor plumbing.

            Worried about lack of supplies?

  • I’m sure the real women will appreciate the gender neutral bathrooms when the actual men pee all over the toilet seats. Enjoy.
