AHAC Incentives and Barriers of Affordable Housing Meeting

The Affordable Housing Advisory Committee (AHAC) will conduct a hybrid meeting on Thursday, October 14, 2021. The meeting begins at 5:30 p.m. in Conference Room A of the Alachua County Community Support Services Department (218 S.E. 24th Street, Gainesville, in the Alachua County Health Department building). This meeting is a part of an evaluation and update of the Incentives and Barriers of Affordable Housing.
If attending in person, masks are strongly recommended for those not vaccinated. Those wishing to attend remotely can join on Zoom (or dial in at 929-205-6099 Meeting ID: 828 3923 4068, Passcode: 853027).
The meeting includes a presentation and request for public input related to:
- Existing incentives
- Additional public proposal on affordable housing
- Public barriers to affordable housing
- Public concerns on how to make housing more affordable in Alachua County

The GREATEST barriers to affordable housing in Alachua County and Gainesville are the high taxes, high utility rates and most of all, the fiscally incompetent leaders of the aforementioned entities.
