Alachua County Commission email portal improved

Press release from Alachua County

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Some local governments choose not to make commissioner emails available to the public. Some have various restrictions on email access. Alachua County is pleased to announce that its public-facing County Commission email function, which has always allowed residents unrestricted and complete access to emails to and from Commissioners, has been upgraded to allow easy access to email attachments. Also, the site’s ergonomics and search function have been greatly improved. This is part of Alachua County’s ongoing efforts to keep residents informed and engaged and to enhance transparency.

We invite residents to learn to navigate this system by going to: https://www.alachuacounty.us/Depts/BOCC/Pages/CommissionerEmailArchive.asp

  • Is it true the City of Alachua Commissioners’ emails are not posted online? Wonder why?

    • City of Alachua bizness is not conducted by email. It is conducted verbally in backroom meetings, thus there is nothing in writing subject to public records requests. Alachua backroom members may by crooked but they all aint dumb.

  • Doesn’t really matter since the elite BOCC doesn’t answer complaints about roads, frivolous spending, and anything else they choose to ignore!

    • It matters. Please don’t complain when they get something right. There are way too many posts on AC that follow this trend and it is not helpful. Thank you BOCC! What say you, Mayor Ward and the rest of the commission that refuses to be transparent with the people’s business?

  • Alachua County Commissioner’s email portal improved to hide public comments. 2nd highest property taxes and the road infrastructure is below standard average from your support staff members advised you . Can you please focus on core issues first before you start talking about anything else. Please your tax payers are going broke.

  • i have left voice mails, and sent emails to the road department, but no one has responded. these pot holes are getting bigger. please provide the service for which we tax payers are eligible. i have sent pictures to the road division to verify the need and location.
    thank you
