Staff report
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Alachua County is now included in Governor DeSantis’ emergency declaration for Tropical Storm Milton.
In his press conference this morning, the Governor emphasized that everyone should check their hurricane supplies, particularly non-perishable food, water, and batteries, in preparation for power outages. The Governor also said debris from Hurricane Helene could increase damage in another storm and advised that efforts to clear debris should be increased; he said that trucks have been gathered from multiple state agencies to help in the effort.

Help me Obi Ron!
My Hero Donald J. Trump and all the Republicans swear repeatedly that climate change is a Liberal HOAX and not real.
Thus no one needs to worry about this little hurricane.
Besides, with a sharpie Donald can change to storm’s cone path direction to hit Cuba. Problem solved.
Hurricanes have been around for thousands of years. In fact basically the same number year after year. I would suggest you check the yearly statistics year after year then report back to us. Oh yes, Florida has developed quite a bit in 100 years, thus more damage.
Not. true. Hurricanes are a recent phenomenon. They began in 1925 with the founding of the University of Miami.
Sharpie, you must have gone to school to learn how to be that damn dumb! You can’t blame this storm on Trump no more than I can blame it on the Biden administration.
Now that I think about it, your comment is so dumb it must be “click bait” Guess you got me.
That biomass plant was supposed to stop climate change…how’d that work out?
The county needs collect all that hurricane debris and generate electricity with the downed tree biomass.
I’m ok with them burning those biohazzard face masks 😷 and biohazard paper straws that suck.
Kamala wants CO2 legislation to stop climate change and hurricanes as part of her
Great reset plan for global utopian
One world totalitarian government, not Trump! Give credit to where it’s deserved.
