Alachua County launches interactive ‘Forward Focus’ microsite

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Alachua County is proud to announce the launch of an easy-to-use, interactive microsite designed to keep residents informed and involved in the progress of the Forward Focus initiative.
Forward Focus: Eastern Alachua County is a comprehensive, three-year initiative dedicated to understanding and addressing the most pressing needs of residents in eastern Alachua County.
The project began with community listening sessions to gather input directly from residents and shape a responsive and impactful plan that identifies the region’s most pressing challenges, including housing, jobs, healthcare, and more.
The new page complements the existing Forward Focus website, allowing residents to receive updates, track past and upcoming events, review comments, and share their feedback.
Residents can also sign up for updates by entering their email addresses at the bottom of the page.
Why are they “proud?”
FF is apparently operating on a grant from the Gates Foundation which probably also provides the organized format for invoving citizens in developing goals through information, public localized meetings, and an open comments forum (29 pages so far). Depending on how the county uses the tool, but at least as importantly how citizens do, it can be a temporary and low impact project or one that expands citizen involvement and interaction with their government and accomplishes local goals..
Always using that Marxist language.
