Alachua County man arrested for molesting young girl over multiple years

Staff report

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Richard Alexander, 78, was arrested yesterday and charged with 10 felonies related to repeated incidents of sexual battery of a young girl over multiple years.

The victim reportedly told Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies that the incidents occurred over a period of years when she visited Alexander’s home as a child. She said the abuse occurred frequently and consistently when she was between 5 and 13 years old, and the incidents happened at two different residences.

The victim said Alexander entered her room while she was sleeping and sexually battered her, and he also allegedly molested her in other situations when he believed nobody was watching.

Deputies reportedly conducted a controlled call between Alexander and the victim, and during the call, Alexander reportedly apologized to the victim for “molesting” her as a child; he reportedly said it was “a sickness he could not control.”

Alexander was arrested a short time later at one of his homes, and he reportedly told deputies that the victim was about eight years old when he started molesting her, and the abuse went on for about three years.

Alexander has been charged with five counts of sexual battery against a victim under the age of 12 and five counts of lewd and lascivious molestation with a victim under the age of 12. He has one misdemeanor conviction (non-violent) from 1993. Judge Adam Lee ordered him held without bail pending a hearing on a motion from the State Attorney’s Office to hold him without bail until trial; if the judge denies the motion, bail will be set at that hearing.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

  • Automatic death penalty for ALL convicted child molesters. Not the wait 20 years on death row type, the we will see you next Tuesday and handle it type. Unacceptable and inexcusable, only then will chesters understand the gravity of their decision and hopefully thwart future pedos from the same.

  • Another Pedo claiming the Bug got him and he can’t himself. He admitted there is no cure. Hopefully at 80 years of age he is not long for this world and will see his new master at the burning gates. I pray there are no other victims.

  • Definitely needs to spend the rest of his life behind bars. Such a piece of trash right there.

  • This Solzhenitsyn lookalike will never see the light of day again. God only knows how many girls he’s defiled in his life. Good riddance.

  • For his age… She couldn’t have been his first and probably wasn’t his last victim

  • …release the Epstein files!
Glad to know many support pedophiles accountability.

I’ve known Jeff for 15 years. Terrific guy,” Trump told New York magazine in 2002. “He’s a lot of fun to be with. It is even said that he likes beautiful women as much as I do, and many of them are on the younger side.”

Last week, the Wall Street Journal reported on a birthday message sent bearing Trump’s name for Epstein’s 50th birthday in 2003. According to the Journal, it contained an outline of a naked womanand a typed note that ended with the line: “Happy Birthday—and may every day be another wonderful secret.”

During Maxwell’s trial, Epstein’s longtime pilot testified that Trump flew on Epstein’s private plane multiple times. Trump has denied being on the plane.

In October 1996, he bought Miss Universe, Miss USA, and Miss Teen USA. In an interview with Howard Stern in 2005, Trump bragged about his access to contestants, some of whom were as young as 14.
‘I’ll go backstage before a show and everyone’s getting dressed and ready and everything else and no men are anywhere … I’m allowed to go in because I’m the owner of the pageant and therefore I’m inspecting it,’ Trump told Stern.
‘The girls are standing there with no clothes on, and so I sort of get away with things like that,’ he said.

In 2003, the Wall Street Journal reported, Epstein received a leather-bound volume of tributes from friends for his 50th birthday. A lewd message in the book was attributed to Trump, the paper reported. It ended: ‘Happy Birthday – and may every day be another wonderful secret.’ (Trump denied writing the letter and has sued the Wall Street Journal over the report.)

Multiple outlets reported earlier this week that Attorney General Pam Bindi briefed President Trump in May that his name appears multiple times in the Epstein files — something he denied ever happened.
    * “No, I was never briefed, no,” he told reporters upon landing in Glasgow.

  • I knew him and I’m not surprised. While his wife was alive he enabled her alcoholism and helped keep her inebriated, as human garbage does. My thoughts are with the families who have been affected, and the children who had their childhood destroyed by this monster.
