  • Why isn’t this celebration held at Veteran’s Memorial Park?

I am a 72 year old Veteran! I have lost many Veteran Friends who deserve to be honored in a location named in their honor, Veteran’s Park, not a tree!

I think it is named Veteran’s Memorial Park for a reason!

    • Agree with you !! Should be held at the Veteran’s Memorial Park. The whole idea of this “event” being sponsored by a funeral home really gets to me. I’m sure they will have a table with brochures and other advertisements.

    • Evergreen Cemetery is not a tree, it is an actual cemetery. Veterans of nearly every American conflict since the 1830s are buried at Evergreen and flags are placed at the burial sites. Please learn the meaning of the location before blast the event.

      • I believe that you misunderstood the comment and jumped to the wrong conclusion.
Karen, don’t be so quick to criticize a Veteran.

  • This is usually a very meaningful experience for my family. I want to make sure my that kids understand that appreciating those who’ve paid the ultimate price to protect our God-given freedoms is essential.

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.”—John 15:13, KJV
