Alachua County seeks applicants for Children’s Trust

Press release from Alachua County
ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Alachua County is accepting applications from individuals interested in serving on the Children’s Trust of Alachua County (CTAC). CTAC is an independent special district with taxing authority dedicated to funding preventive, developmental, and treatment services that support the well-being of local children.
CTAC is governed by a 10-member board, featuring five members appointed by the governor. The governor makes appointments from a list of names recommended by the Alachua County Commission.
Currently, there is one vacancy, and four board members are eligible for reappointment.
“CTAC funds and supports a coordinated system of community services that allows all youth and their families to thrive,” said CTAC board chair and County Commissioner Ken Cornell, referring to the mission and values statements. “It facilitates equitable access and opportunities for all children, youth, and families in Alachua County to ensure every child reaches their maximum potential.”

Fill out an application by the May 1, 2025, deadline. Email a copy of the completed application to Community Support Services Director Claudia Tuck at ctuck@alachuacounty.us.
Applications will be considered at the May 27, 2025, County Commission meeting for possible recommendation to the governor’s office.
The government is largely corrupt due to good people not being involved.
There are some readers of this site who would be great for this opportunity. It would be challenging to fill out the application in such a way so as not to be dishonest and also not appear too intelligent and qualified. I’m sure that they are looking for woke, DEI applicants only, but certainly you could be “identify” as many of the qualifications that they are looking for.
