Alachua County Sheriff’s Office career fair to be held April 1

Press release from Alachua County Sheriff’s Office

ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – Have you ever wanted to effect real change in your community, while earning a competitive salary, enjoying great benefits, and enjoying the retirement benefits of the FRS Pension or Investment plan?

Sheriff Clovis Clovis Watson Jr. and the men and women of the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office invite you to attend our on-site career fair on April 1 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the ACSO Main Station, which is located at 2621 SE Hawthorne Rd. in Gainesville. Sheriff’s Office team members from the various divisions within the agency will be on hand to speak with you about the variety of employment opportunities that are currently available.

Human Resources personnel will be on hand to answer questions and assist members of the community with applying for the open position of their choice.

Sheriff Watson believes that while there is no community without law enforcement, there is equally no law enforcement without our community.

  • Is Clovis stepping down? He us one of the main reasons no one want to work at the Sheriff’s office. Kinda hard to have a job fair when you make the department a hostile work environment.

  • They’re going to need to hold these weekly at the rate current employees are quitting the Sheriff’s office. Clovis is a malignant tumor that needs removal.

    • How many vacant positions are there between jail and sworn? I think it’s over 300 but it is hard to keep track since resignations are about three per week.

  • Having the job fair on April Fool’s Day is on the nose. Clovis and his henchmen are fools and only fools would want to go to work for ASO while Clovis is still there.
