ALACHUA, Fla. – Nicholas Lee Dandron, 38, was arrested early this morning and charged with battery after allegedly grabbing an employee at One 51 Place Apartments and forcibly kissing her.

The victim told an Alachua Police Department officer that she was passing out documents to each apartment at about 3:45 p.m. yesterday when Dandron, who had been sitting in his car, called her over. She said he stepped out of his car, grabbed her, and forcibly kissed her, leaving an injury on her lip. She said she was able to break away from him, walk to her car, and get away.

Officers made contact with Dandron at about 2:00 a.m., and he reportedly said he did not remember seeing the victim but that he had been drinking all day and had “blacked out.” He was reportedly concerned whether he had hurt the victim and stated that “biting lips is his thing.”

Dandron has an out-of-state criminal history between 2002 and 2018 but no local convictions. Judge Thomas Jaworski released him on his own recognizance to court services for alcohol treatment and ordered the fitting of a transdermal alcohol detector.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
