ALACHUA, Fla. – Danwand Lee Green, 41, was arrested late last night and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly knocking on a door and demanding money from the resident at gunpoint.

Green is reportedly owed money by the victim’s ex-boyfriend, who used to live with the victim but no longer lives there. The victim reportedly told Alachua Police Department officers that Green knocked on her door in the Alachua Apartments complex, and when she answered the door, Green produced a small handgun and pointed it at her face, saying, “I want my money.” She said she immediately slammed the door and called 911. She said she knew Green personally and was able to tell officers where his apartment is located, in the same complex.

Officers made contact with Green at his residence, and he agreed to a search of the apartment. Officers found two small handgun “lighters” that look like handguns; the report noted that the search was still ongoing.

Post Miranda, Green reportedly gave conflicting stories but ultimately denied being involved in the incident. Green is also on probation in Bradford County but has no local criminal history; bail information is unavailable on weekends.

Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
