From Florida Highway Patrol press release

ALACHUA, Fla. – A 38-year-old Alachua man was killed this morning when he drove into the rear of a stopped semi truck on U.S. Hwy 441.

The Alachua man was driving a box truck east on U.S. Hwy 441, approaching the traffic signal at the southbound exit ramp of I-75, when he failed to stop and hit a semi truck, driven by a 37-year-old Crawfordville man, that was stopped at the red light. The box truck drove into the rear of the semi trailer, and the Alachua man was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. The semi truck driver was reportedly uninjured.

  • Tragic. My bet is the deceased driver was on his cell phone most likely.
