Press release from City of Gainesville

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The City of Gainesville’s Wild Spaces & Public Places Department and the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department are pleased to announce the completion of boardwalk repairs at Alfred A. Ring Park (1801 NW 23rd Blvd.).

Significant wood rot created safety hazards for park visitors. Renovations included the replacement of all walking surfaces on the bridge and boardwalks. The top handrails on the boardwalks and any deteriorated structural components were also replaced. Additionally, new concrete walkways were constructed at the north trailhead bridge and new dog waste stations were installed.

MKM Quality Construction, Inc. completed the three-month project at a cost of $414,021.61.
