Area youth invited to explore arts and culture fields at career showcase event

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – For area youth with a passion for the arts and culture, the City of Gainesville is hosting the Career Influencer Showcase x Arts and Culture as part of One Nation One Project GNV (ONOP GNV).
When:Â 9:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m. on Sat., April 27
Where: Blount Center at Santa Fe College, 530 W. University Ave.
The event is an opportunity for local youth to meet with area entrepreneurs in the arts and culture sectors; learn about their work firsthand; discover upcoming shadowing, internship, and job opportunities; and connect with fellow attendees who share similar passions.
Attendees will have dedicated networking opportunities throughout the day to speak with local professionals representing these select fields:
- Production and creative events
- Fashion, hair, and beauty
- Painting, sculpture, and drawing
- Dance and music
The event is free and open to all youth in the community. Lunch will be provided.
One Nation One Project is a national wellness initiative engaging communities through the healing power of the arts. ONOP GNV leverages American Rescue Plan Act resources on increasing arts and cultural engagement to improve youth well-being and reduce youth gun violence in our community. This initiative is facilitated collaboratively with community partners and several City departments.
