ASO asking residents and businesses in Tower Road area to check cameras after Big Daddy Guns burglary
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Following an overnight theft of firearms from Big Daddy Guns at 7600 NW 5th Place, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office (ASO) is asking residents and businesses in the area to check cameras for two suspects who stole multiple firearms from the business.
According to a Facebook post from ASO, two suspects broke the glass in a window at about 3:27 a.m. this morning, and deputies responded to the burglary alarm within four minutes. ASO has used numerous resources already in the investigation, including the air unit, the K-9 unit, forensics, and drone units from Gainesville Police Department and Alachua County Fire Rescue; federal investigators are also on scene.
Anyone with information can contact Crime Stoppers, call the non-emergency number at (352) 955-1818, or send a message to ASO on Facebook.
Imagine that. Pretty sure the thieves who broke in and stole the merchandise were in some way prohibited from owning a firearm. Where’s there’s a will there’s a way I guess.
They’re stocking up, you should be that determined as well. (If you’re legally able). One might say “put the fear of God into them” or at least make them think twice. Better yet, save some taxes, they don’t need free phone calls.
Since the argument is criminals don’t follow laws, guess we shouldn’t make burglary or theft illegal. Make everything legal because criminals don’t follow laws anyway.
Hasn’t big daddy guns been hit like this before? Do they even lock up their guns?
It sounds like Big Daddy needs a better security services company.
In and out in less than 4 minutes, evading K-9 and air units? Seems a lot more professional than the usual smash and grab thieves.
My thoughts are that the guns are on the way to Miami or Atlanta
are you gonna blame what the 7,700 priests and pastors did to over 70,000 boys in church on people of color also ?
Where’s color mentioned or did you read the story through your special glasses?
Ah… a leftist talking about what Catholics do… you know, the predominant faith of leftist politicians? Oh btw, California passed a bill sb145 protecting sex offenders!
Actually, they dropped a few guns fleeing. They probably have experience doing similar smash-n-grabs but this does not sound like ‘professionals’. And there are quite a few neighborhoods on Tower Road that they can disappear into to avoid law enforcement.
Yep, I think you’re right based on that extra information. Saw this on another new source:
“Deputies responded to the store less than four minutes after an alarm was tripped at 3:27 a.m. When they arrived, deputies caught the suspects in the act and they fled.
The suspects dropped some of the weapons as they fled. The sheriff’s office is declining to release any details regarding the type of weapons stolen or the quantity.”
Were they wearing gloves (no fingerprints)?
Well, that’s ASO under Clovis.
Some how this is Ron DeSantis’ fault…
I’m sure the clown festival will be blaming this on Biden or transgender people. Time to boycott some place so this never happens again.
Now ASO wants citizens to help them? Good luck with that. When an agency sells out its citizens I wouldn’t expect much assistance in return.
They forgot: “Sheriff Clovis Watson would like to remind citizens that you should obtain your guns through the proper channels, and legally.”
Sheriff Clovis Watson does indeed like to see “Sheriff Clovis Watson” in print, doesn’t he? It’s almost as if being the sheriff is more about his ego than it is about serving our community.
If they sell them back in the city’s buy back program does that imply it was a good ROI?
Reminds me of “The Beckwith Incident”. Great read – see here:

The patched bullet holes from HB can still be seen in the front of the building.
Ohhh thanks so much for publishing that..it’s a fabulous story.. Harry could easily have killed all of them but he brought them to justice..what a hero!!
Col. Major Harry stood his ground!!!
ok so they broke in why was their a gun not locked in a safe and how long will they keep a FFL this was so irrespirable
I’ll help…
I understand they broke in but why were the guns not locked in a safe or secured properly?
Will they still be able to possess a FFL since it seems Big Daddy was irresponsible or at least negligent?
Sadly it reminds me of the previous time they were robbed.
Glass breaking seems to be the way to get into business lately I’d be looking at those criminals that have been breaking glass lately. I’m sure they’re already out.
I didnt see any physical description of the suspects in any press releases. Are they white, black, Hispanic, Asian, polka dot, Male or female, clothing?
You need to pay your reparations before they can responsibly release the race of the suspects. Kind of like pay to play.
My guess is they dropped some of the weapons because they were having a difficult time running and trying to hold up their pants.
Maybe that could be a description in attempting to solve the crime. “BOLO -No belts on the perps.”
We need a law for impact resistant plexiglass at gun shops.
Pat, I would like to solve the puzzle! These puzzles are becoming redundant!
If they get caught and arrested, fingers crossed that Walter Green isn’t their first appearance judge.
For the benefit of society
