GAINESVILLE, Fla. – An Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy shot a suspect who drew a gun while deputies were attempting to take him into custody last night near Bonefish Grill.

At about 10 p.m. on July 2, deputies were attempting to take a suspect into custody for kidnapping, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, deprivation of 911, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; the suspect drew a gun in the parking lot of Bonefish Grill (3237 SW 35th Boulevard), and a deputy fired several shots.
The suspect was taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for treatment. No bystanders or deputies were injured.

So thankful deputies and bystanders were not injured.
