ASO Detective solves vehicle burglary case using lead from similar burglary in the area

WALDO, Fla. – Justin Lavelle Bolton Jr., 19, of Waldo, has been charged with stealing firearms and credit cards from three vehicles in two separate burglaries in November 2025 and January 2026.

On January 26, Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a property in Waldo where the victims said two vehicles had been broken into; a purse and credit card were stolen, along with several firearms. Several CashApp transactions and an Amazon transaction had been attempted on the card.

In June, a detective received information from a subpoena to CashApp that had been submitted in February; the CashApp account belonged to Justin Bolton, and the account showed five attempts to transfer money from the victim’s credit card to Bolton’s account on January 26. The account also tried to transfer money to another account, but that payment was also declined.

The detective researched other burglaries in the area and found a report from November 2025; that victim kept a tracker in her wallet, and she reported that the tracker was showing at an address in Waldo; the detective noted that the address she reported is Bolton’s address.

On July 20, the detective went to Bolton’s address in Waldo, but he learned that Bolton was at a residence in Hawthorne, and Bolton was subsequently arrested at that residence.

Bolton has been charged with two counts of armed burglary of a vehicle, four counts of grand theft of a firearm, and two counts of attempted theft of a debit/credit card (one each for the November and January burglaries). He has no criminal convictions, and Judge Susan Miller-Jones set bail at $255,000.
