GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Just after 3:00 p.m. today, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office Warrants Investigators, assisted by the U.S. Marshals Service, attempted to serve a felony warrant on 38-year-old Ali Bayhan for terroristic threats.

Investigators surrounded a residence in the 1400 block of NW 35th Way that was known to be occupied by Bayhan. Investigators used a public address system to issue commands for him to come out. Bayhan exited the residence armed with a handgun visible in his waistband and reportedly did not comply with the Investigators’ commands. Bayhan then reportedly reached toward his waistband and grabbed the handgun. Investigators discharged their service weapons, striking Bayhan.

Investigators immediately requested EMS and attempted to render aid, but Bayhan was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate the use of deadly force by deputies.

The deputies involved in this incident have been placed on paid administrative leave in accordance with ASO policy.

    • We know what happened, the tax payers got to save money on a trial for a guy who made terrorists threats. Good riddance

  • Terrorists in our own backyard. Thanks to the swift action of ACSO countless lives may have been saved by this turkey from Turkey being ventilated.

  • Too many damn foreigners! Thanks again Joke Bidumbdumb and fellow Democrats for another unvetted lunatic.
    Oh….almost forgot….RIP.

  • Much better report than originally posted. The first report looked like he was shot because of “terrorist” threats, not because he was armed and attempting to draw his gun. Well done ASO.
