Breaking Down Barriers housing resources fair to be held on Saturday, April 26

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Alachua County Equal Opportunity Office, the City of Gainesville, and other community partners are celebrating Fair Housing Month with the “Breaking Down Barriers” housing resources fair. The fair will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Jr. Multipurpose Center (1025 NE 14th St., Gainesville). Light refreshments will be provided.
Participants will discover various resources and information to help them in their housing search (from affordable housing options to financial assistance programs).
“Don’t miss out on this opportunity to connect with experts and organizations that can help you navigate the housing market,” said Alachua County Equal Opportunity Manager Jacqueline Chung. “We will have a panel discussion and break-out sessions so participants can talk with housing resource experts about their personal needs and assistance.”

- Housing Authority Rental Assistance Programs
- Steps to Homeownership
- Credit Repair/Financing
- Landlord/Tenant Rights and Responsibilities
- Code Enforcement- Minimum Housing Standards Program
There is no “affordable housing” if one has to pay for it with their own money unless you are making City or county employees salaries
