BREAKING: Large FDLE presence at the offices of Boukari Law and Alachua County Today

ALACHUA, Fla. – There is currently a large Florida Department of Law Enforcement presence at the downtown Alachua offices of Boukari Law and Alachua County Today. Access to the building is blocked by crime scene tape, and officers are standing outside the building.
An FDLE van is at the scene, and an Alachua County Sheriff’s vehicle is on scene to provide assistance.
The building at 14804 Main Street in Alachua is owned by Alachua Today Inc., which is owned by Ellen Boukari and Habib Boukari. Bryan Boukari’s law practice, Boukari Law, is also housed in the building, as is the newspaper Alachua County Today.
FDLE officers at the scene declined to comment. Alachua County Sheriff’s Office said FDLE requested assistance with an investigation. Bryan Boukari and Ellen Boukari did not immediately respond to our requests for comment, but we will update this article if we receive responses.

I’ll say the quiet part out loud: Since the FDLE investigation into sexual misconduct allegations at Santa Fe High School was made public, the name “Boukari” was linked to it by multiple people who have been following this story.
I can’t begin to know if that’s why law enforcement is at their offices, of course. But it’s an interesting development.
Probably because where there’s smoke, there’s usually fire. One can only assume that pedo Boukari also has some shady financial dealings with all his connections in law, real estate, and city commission. It’s almost a given.
I’m disgusted by pedophiles lurking in and around our schools and community, masquerading as decent humans!
There should be harsh, swift consequences for this family and everyone who turned a blind eye to their alleged egregious behavior! Since the signing of House Bill 1545, which makes grooming children a third-degree felony, hopefully those who prey on children and those who prey but don’t quite “cross the line” will receive more than a slap on the wrist like former Buchholz band director Shawn Barat, who, while not charged criminally, was definitely grooming the reporting student. I look forward to many more Alachua Chronicle articles about this family and seeing their mugshots soon!
It’s one thing to comment on this article, but how dare you defame someone who was never charged with a crime.
Read the sheriff’s office, school board and Florida department of education reports from the Barat investigations. There’s enough there that, had the grooming law been passed before he was reported, he’d likely have been charged.
While it’s a shame that the grooming law wasn’t in place earlier, it doesn’t make his actions any less contemptible or damaging for the students involved.

This family has been defaming my wife and I, using the city of Alachua Police and City officials as a weapon against us foe the past 7 years.

I’m confused. If there were any evidence of absolutely anything the news, especially the chronicle, would be the first to put it out there. From what I can see based on previous articles there is no holding back when it comes to presentation of evidence by the news even when it involves minors (read article about Newberry issue- no holding back there) Rumors are just rumors until facts are presented. Court of public opinion doesn’t hold facts. You need to get a life. I can’t wait until the facts are actually presented. I’ve known this family for many many years- they have ALWAYS been great people and those who actually know them will be the first to tell you that this is ridiculous. People will always try to tear you down with lies and falsehoods. Shame on anyone who spreads rumors without facts. Shame on everyone who points fingers without knowledge especially you who consider yourselves Christians. I’m disappointed. Alachua- do better.
The fact that there a many comments from people saying things like “it’s about time”…”years late but better than never” “booty bandit”… you can say you’ve known them for years but obviously some people know more than you. Accusations like that don’t come out of no where. People will not accuse random folk of touching boys for absolutely no reason. I hope for their sake that they are innocent but these comments are alarming, disgusting and many people in the community are calling this a “Jared from subway” situation.
Yeah errr-body just because The FDLE and Alachua County Sheriff department raid the office of a officer of the courts (AKA: an attorney approved by the Bar) does not mean there’s any wrongdoing or that they have any evidence that gives them the right to a search warrant/raid. All you people who are throwing rocks, jumping to conclusions are silly. I am sure that law enforcement out of all the businesses in the city of Alachua decided to pick this one to raid with no evidence or reasoning behind such a move.
They don’t give out search warrants without a reason …I’m sure they have plenty of reasons !!!!

FDLE had to have gotten a warrant for yesterday’s search and that means they had to already have more than rumors or a judge wouldn’t have signed the warrant.
It’s hard to believe that someone you know and trust is fooling you. And you could very well be right and the rumors about members of the Boukari family are completely false.
However, prepare yourself because you could also be wrong. I was wrong to trust the former Buchholz High School Babd director.
Remember that the city of Alachua and APD were mentioned in incident with the Baseball coach that there may gave been a cover up. Maybe APD was not invited for a reason…..

You may have to eat your words and find a way to live with the fact that you were fooled and initially supported a person(s) who are not who you believed them to be.
I speak from experience as I also wrote similar words as these about someone I was SURE couldn’t/wouldn’t/ didn’t hurt children. They did, and there hardly ever evidence.. until there is
I’m sure FDLE has certain information redacted until investigation is over…just like the investigation at the High school. And if this is all connected, there may be a lot more people involved.
SHAME ON YOU! thanks to the court of public opinion . I was able to weave together just what was going on. You can always count on the locals because now it sounds like this family will be throwing a lot of money at the court of their fellow criminals to make the evidence disappear.
Exactly!!! Show me the proof of any wrongdoing in black and white. I’ve known people who have been accused of things that are totally untrue…just to hurt them in anger, ruined people’s reputations, even though they’ve been found innocent. Ellen Boukari and her son have done nothing but act horrendously toward the neighbors in town for a decade and gotten away with it (Gib I’m pointing a finger at you for allowing it and not pushing the police department to actually do their job). Here’s hoping this ends their hold on Main Street Alachua —it is time for the Boukari’s to move on except for Ben. Ben has been a good guy all around and has sadly gotten the raw end of the deal just like many people in Alachua have too.
The city has been coddling them for years. Shame on APD for always siding with them. And the Tit for tat comment was discussing from an officer of the law and you know who you are. And the city officials breaking their oath.

I’ve lived in this city for 25 years and the Boukari’s have been here almost that long as well. So my concern is, why are people talking like they know what’s going on and then they can’t back themselves up?!

Where are comments on Facebook that you all are referencing?
If you go to the Chronicle and the TV20 Facebook pages, you’ll see comments on the articles as well as comments from people who shared the article on their own pages (if they’re public).
The general gist is that, whatever is happening, it’s been happening for some time. And that it’s been covered up/enabled by Alachua Police Department, others in the community and at Santa Fe High School. There are a lot of “It’s about time” types of comments.
I am confused by the comment above. The only information about a coverup has come from an attorney Bobbi Frank according to those articles, but she has an alleged pedophile working for her? Or she works for Boukari Law??? Clear this up for me. There are just so many rumors. Has anyone been arrested or charged? Sad

No need to assume. It’s fact, based off personal experience with plenty of evidence to support. There’s absolutely shady business going on by Boukari. I paid this guy a lot of hard earned money for representation and his negligence, unethical practice, protection of fellow Alachua County elected officials cost me and my family a significant amount of money and hardship. This guy was too worried about protecting his professional relationships vs. his client with no regard for the mess and damage he created. Nothing like waiting at the courthouse for your attorney to show up for an important hearing, so late that the judges chambers we already locked. He probably showed up late too on the day he took his Oath of Admission to The Florida Bar.
