Byron Donalds enters race for Florida Governor

Press release from Donalds for Florida
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Congressman Byron Donalds launched his much-anticipated run for Governor of the great state of Florida. The announcement comes on the heels of the highly sought-after endorsement of everyone’s favorite Floridian, President Donald J. Trump.
“I am excited to announce my candidacy for Governor of our great state, and I am humbled by the outpouring of support we have received, especially from President Trump – he is making America great again, and I am proud to be the only candidate for Governor that President Trump trusts to keep Florida great,” Donalds said.
“I stand shoulder to shoulder with President Trump who’s ushering in the golden age of America and that effort starts in the states. Florida must continue to lead the way in education reform, economic opportunity, lowering costs for families, protecting public safety, and in defending our God-given rights and freedoms. We will create a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Florida with the freedom to live without liberal policies destroying our way of life.
“From the State House to the U.S. House, I have fought tirelessly for Floridians, and I will keep fighting for you as Governor. Together, we will keep Florida the greatest state in the nation and serve as a beacon of freedom with continued bold and common-sense conservative leadership. May God bless the great state of Florida,” said Donalds.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Byron Donalds is the product of a single-parent household. Throughout his life, his mother made every sacrifice possible to give him the best opportunity to live the American Dream. That philosophy his mother taught him, striving to leave future generations better than the current, is what leads him in his work, his home life, and as a Member of Congress.
Byron attended Florida State University and graduated in 2002 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in finance and marketing. Byron’s career path has included working in the finance, insurance, and banking industries in Southwest Florida.
While serving in the Florida House of Representatives, Byron made his mark as a champion for school choice and protecting parental rights in education. Donalds led the effort to enact Hope Scholarships that empowered parents with school choice and passed a first-in-the-nation bill to that allowed parents and community members to review instructional materials in schools. Donalds chaired the prominent House Insurance and Banking Subcommittee, working to improve Florida’s business and insurance policies. Governor Rick Scott also appointed Byron to the Board of Trustees for Florida South Western State College.
Since 2020, Donalds has served the people of Florida’s 19th Congressional District. Congressman Donalds quickly distinguished himself as a conservative warrior on Capitol Hill. In the 119th Congress, Donalds sits on the Oversight and Accountability and Financial Services Committees. As a rising star in the Republican Party, he has stood in the trenches against the rise of woke culture in schools, corporate America, the financial services industry, and our military. Byron is also a staunch advocate for the Second Amendment, School Choice, Fiscal Sanity, Secure Borders, Law and Order, and a Limited Federal Government. He has consistently received the highest ratings possible from conservative groups for his reliable voting record.
Donalds served as a top surrogate for the 2024 Donald Trump for President Campaign and fought to hold the corrupt Biden Administration accountable.
Byron Donalds lives in Naples, Florida, with his wife, Erika, and their three sons, Damon, Darin, and Mason.

But he is not related to Desantis. Nepotism is all that counts any more, party affiliation is way down the list. Unless he marries a Desantis I cannot vote for him no matter how much he loves MAGA.
In the spirit of DEI, I will vote for him. Even though I don’t want him to win. I have really painted myself into a corner with this DEI stuff.
DEI doesn’t apply to black men who are heterosexual, believe in God and actually have conservative standards and morals.
FYI.
DEI was supposed to be about uplifting the black community from the effects of slavery, what it has turned into is the promotion and uplifting of alternative lifestyles, and sexual identity.
Thank you Common Sense for clearing this up for me. So if he is a male who is heterosexual believes in God and actually has conservative standards and morals that can only mean one thing. He is a Race-ist and I don’t have to vote for him now.
Articulate your position please, I’d love to hear this one.
He has my vote
He’s missed more votes than any other Congressional representative, will probably spend more time at Mar-a-Lago than at the Governor’s Mansion. We need a better option.
It’s Casey DeSantis or Ashley Moody for me. Byron is party player not a Constitutionalist Conservative.
There are others – Blaise Ingoglia or Jay Collins could do a good job, especially if DeSantis gives them some state-wide prominence with an appointment to CFO or LtGov.
No Thank you we don’t need another Trump worshipper, yes man
This is great news! Thank you.
Great things to come from this man.
Stay tuned.
Sure beats what the Dems have been serving up lately. Andrew Gillum and Charlie Christ were a joke.
“endorsement of everyone’s favorite Floridian, President Donald J. Trump.”
Well since DJT is not my favorite Floridian, he is not “everyone’s” favorite Floridian, so the Republicans lied AGAIN.
Just pointing it out.
