Cammack comes up short in bid for Conference Chair
BY JENNIFER CABRERA
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Lisa McClain (R-Mich.) was elected today to replace outgoing House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.), who was selected to be the Ambassador to the United Nations by President-elect Donald Trump. Rep. Kat Cammack (R-Fla.) announced on Monday that she was running for the leadership position.
In a social media post, Cammack said, “I’m grateful to my colleagues for considering me to be the next House Republican Conference Chair. I ran on a platform dedicated to helping our Conference stay united to deliver on President Trump’s America First agenda. I’m convinced our Conference will do amazing work over the next two years and I look forward to working alongside my colleagues and newly elected Chairwoman Lisa McClain. It’s time to get to work.”
Who cares? Literally does nothing to improve my life. Nothing more than a vanity ploy.
Because you’re asleep. Apparently if it ain’t free, it doesn’t improve you’re ‘quality of life.’
Sad to hear. We’re all very concerned with improving your life.
Get a job
Writing is on the wall Cammack.
She needs to lose a few (100?) pounds and then try again.
What a real jerk comment.
The position is for people who don’t want to help their constituents.
Sorry detractors. I for one appreciate her trying. As an activist myself, it is terribly hard to get people to do much more than make Facebook posts. Why would you condemn someone, from your keyboard I would add, who is actually willing and trying doing something? Its so ungrateful.
OK, she posts on Facebook and the site formerly known as twitter, and she goes on Faux news, but what has she done for us? What bacon has she brought back to answer our needs? About all I’ve seen her do is kiss the A$$ of the pumpkin, vote to trample our democracy as one of her first votes in office as a prelude to the insurrection, sit on a meaningless committee of Maga’s in a staged fools errand looking for god only knows what, and supporting big sugar ag interests (any sugar farmers in our district?). in short, she’s useless other than taking up space. If she’s truly trying, I think she needs to better orient herself on what should be her actual priorities. Her constituents. The ones that live in her district.
Not to mention Tim, she has obviously done more than they have look at where she is look at where they are being keyboard warriors while she has been busting her butt to get aid for Alachua county as well as many other things but they can’t see past their own blue noses.
The woman that was at the front and center of the ribbon cutting at the new UF east-side clinic that voted against funding for it.
Could that have been because they need an emergency room and not a damn clinic?! Many needs are not met soon enough, after they close.
What a terrible headline “Cammack comes up short.”
It should read “House takes a wide detour around Cammack.”
Kat Cammack is a grass roots conservative!! I support her and expect her to vote her conscience on whatever issue she faces. In this representative republic we need to count on our representatives to learn the details before a vote. She does that.
GO KAT!!
“Conservatism” is a mental defect, but lots of people have it.
