Circle K clerk arrested for stealing $1500

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Miracle Lacoria Stephens, 18, was arrested late last night and charged with grand theft after allegedly stealing about $1500 from Circle K, her employer.

An Alachua County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to a report of a theft last night at the Circle K at 9303 NW 39th Avenue. The manager of the store reportedly told the deputy that managers had been investigating a cash discrepancy and that Stephens, an employee, had admitted to taking $270 that day; she then gave the money back. Stephens reportedly admitted in a written statement that she had stolen approximately $1500. Another manager reportedly told the deputy that the cash shortage had started on October 30.

Stephens has no adult criminal history and has been released from the jail; bail information is not available on weekends.

  • Those 1500 dollars went right into her nostrils. I’m not trying to be funny. She clearly messes with that powder.

    • Absurdity. She is a young adult.. whether the chances lean higher a certain direction or not as to why this has happened.. we don’t know . Even if you all’s drug assumptions are accurate at this moment we don’t know. I do hope she has more than just second chances and is able to get other jobs. I hope the reprimand matches the crime which is NOT INCARCERATION NOR a lifetime long punishment.

    • There are people who believes in second chance’s. The man at the airport was stealing the money that came out of the meter’s. Will he get another job at the airport? Hell No!!!

  • Those federal stimulus handouts don’t last forever. Christmas just around the corner and Biden and the ruling party’s policies aren’t helping.

    How do those policies affect us you ask. You should have noticed by now, Democrats run Alachua County and Gainesville.

    Time to break the chains of government dependence.
