City observes Juneteenth Holiday on June 19

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – In observance of the Juneteenth holiday, City offices will be closed Thursday, June 19.
Residential curbside collection for garbage, recycling and yard waste will be picked up on the holiday.
No RTS bus service is scheduled for the holiday. Please plan accordingly.
Will banks be open and will mail be delivered? I wanted to pay my property tax on Thursday.
Will there be a party at McPherson park? Is the shooter still at large?
No, he stayed in Minnesota and has been captured.
Federal holiday.
Most County and City offices are closed as well but I believe the courts and Clerk are still operating as normal. I think property taxes can be paid online and computers usually don’t care about closings.
I believe the Chronicle has provided a list of closings.
Does anyone else see the irony of cancelling RTS bus service on Juneteenth?
Hopefully their chain breaking revelry celebrations don’t resort in any so called “gun violence”?
