City of Gainesville celebrates opening of Lincoln Yard Park on July 24

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The City of Gainesville’s Wild Spaces & Public Places program and the Parks, Recreation and Cultural Affairs Department invite you to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new Lincoln Yard Park located at 2099 SE 8th Ave.

Funded by the Wild Spaces & Public Places surtax, the new park includes a 1/3-mile walking trail, landscaping, a small playground, adult fitness equipment, and interpretive signage. Construction costs totaled $369,733.

WHEN?

Wednesday, July 24, 9-10 a.m.
In case of severe weather, the event will be rescheduled for Thursday, July 25, 9-10 a.m.

WHERE?

Lincoln Yard Park
2099 SE 8th Ave.
Parking is available in the GTEC parking lot at 2153 SE Hawthorne Rd.
Shuttle service to and from the park will be provided 30 minutes before and after the ceremony.  

  • They should give some of that wild spaces money to Grace Mkt to bus the vagrants & panhandlers back to where they came from‼️

  • You have to be a special kind of curmudgeon to bemoan a park as a waste of tax dollars. I bet you’re a real joy to be around…bless your heart.
