City of Gainesville officials to present Key to the City to Hot Water Music

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Gainesville Mayor Harvey Ward will present a Key to the City to members of Hot Water Music, a punk rock band celebrating its 30-year anniversary. The band will receive a Key to the City for its many contributions to the punk scene and for helping raise Gainesville’s profile internationally as a music destination.
When: 6 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24
Where: City Hall, 200 E. University Ave.
Gainesville Mayor Harvey Ward also will proclaim Oct. 24 Hot Water Music Day.
This Friday is the first day of FEST, Gainesville’s independent multi-day, multi-venue music festival known to attract fans from all around the world. The band is scheduled to perform at FEST Thursday and Friday nights at Bo Diddley Plaza.
Last October, Mayor Ward presented a Key to the City to musician Laura Jane Grace.
Hell, he’s already given out plenty of keys to the city. Take a look around at the growing population of homeless. Little did they know he would change the locks.
Just like the Democrat voters, they were duped into believing him too…either that or they were just idiots. Given their continued support and voting habits, most likely the latter.
