City of Gainesville to recognize 2023 Small Business Mentoring Program participants
Press release from City of Gainesville
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Participants of the City of Gainesville’s 2023 Small Business Mentoring Program will be recognized during the evening session of this week’s Gainesville City Commission meeting.
When: No earlier than 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18
Where: City Hall Auditorium, 200 E. University Ave.
This initiative aims to support the increasing growth and development of participating small businesses by pairing newer companies with more mature, experienced companies to serve as mentors. There were 24 companies in the 2023 program that were connected through these mentoring relationships; the connections and benefits of these partnerships may endure well beyond the duration of the 12-month program.
“It is through the Commission’s unwavering support that we are able to establish these successful connections within our small business community through this mentoring initiative and our other small business opportunities,” said Faylene Welcome, Small Business Program coordinator.
A reception honoring the participants is scheduled at the Historic Thomas Center (302 NE 6th Avenue) immediately following the ceremony.
Applications for the 2024 Mentoring Session are now being accepted through January 17. For more information about the Small Business Program, email sbpp@GainesvilleFL.gov or call 352-334-5051.
Funny how they want to recognize everything except the idiots they are.
They live in a state of denial, it’s no wonder Gainesville reeks of homelessness, crime and high taxes.
