City Of High Springs taps Captain Kevin Pearson as Interim Fire Chief

Press release from the City of High Springs

HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – The City of High Springs has selected Captain Kevin Pearson, the most senior member of the High Springs Fire Department, to serve as Interim Fire Chief.

Pearson began his career in the fire service as a volunteer with High Springs in 2010. Pearson was promoted to Lieutenant in 2015 and advanced to Captain in 2022. In that time, Pearson demonstrated his commitment to service not only at home, but statewide, deploying multiple times to aid in disaster recovery efforts.

“Working at the High Springs Fire Department has been the most fulfilling job I could ask for. I am honored to serve the community my family and I call home,” said Pearson. “At the end of the day, I think actions speak louder than words. I look forward to the residents and visitors of High Springs seeing our actions.”

Pearson will serve as Interim Fire Chief while the City evaluates the department’s long-term needs.
