  • Nice parade. Does that holiday have a name? Anybody important born that day?

The leaders of Deuschland also removed God from public life.

  • At least there was a Merry Christmas float. Maybe a small sign of hope. Used to be that parades in December were called Christmas parades that recognized both Christmas and Hanukkah throughout the month of December. Now everyday is someone’s holiday in world, but I will never understand why we need to celebrate every other nation’s holiday as an American holiday.

    • Opps I realized the first part of my post was cut out. The manger scene celebrating the birth of Christ was the best. It is nice to see floats celebrating the true meaning of the month.

    • What do native Americans celebrate? Since you want to be technical. Who really celebrated Christmas originally? What we are celebrating is from another country as well, so why not celebrate everyone one that lives among us. The sense of entitlement shown by some is sickening. This is God’s country.

  • Our Sheriff Gainey was there in the front leading the event. There is hope for us in Alachua County.

  • $75,000 spent on the parade. Half of which probably went to Spurrier. There were no shootings so that is a plus.

  • At last, an event where no one was shot and appears everyone had a good time.

  • After the nativity float, I like the horses, though they don’t have anything to do with Christmas. They must have been very trustworthy to expose them to people so close. I assume that there was a scooper in the 4 wheeler behind them.

  • Cynthia Chestnut should feel proud after all her hard work. Señorita Saco should feel stupid for being the only one to vote against having the parade. Let’s see if she says anything about it.

  • I thought this was a great parade, I am sure next year it will be greater. Thanks to all who participated and next year maybe we can decorate the trucks, cars, people in more festive gear.
