Community-Police Relations Focus of Tonight’s Telephone Town Hall

The City of Gainesville will host a telephone town hall on community-police relations tonight, June 10, at 7:15 p.m. Gainesville Mayor Lauren Poe will be joined Gainesville Police Chief Tony Jones, Police Advisory Board member Rosa Williams, Dr. Patricia Hilliard-Nunn of the University of Florida African American Studies Program, and community organizer Aeriel Lane.
The speakers will advance a discussion about strengthening the partnership among community members, GPD, and the City. Neighbors with landlines are encouraged to register in advance through this link to receive a call back at the time of the event. Registration for a call back closes two hours before the 7:15 p.m. start time. Callers also can dial in at 1-888-410-3427 to ask questions, share comments or simply listen in once the event begins. The telephone town hall will be broadcast live on COX Cable Channel 12, and the recording will be archived on the City of Gainesville website.
