Compost Celebration Day 2024 offers tours, tips

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The City of Gainesville and Beaten Path Compost invite all neighbors to Compost Celebration Day 2024, a community event about the role of composting in reducing food waste and combating climate change. The event is free and open to the public.
When: 9 a.m.-noon on Sat., Nov. 9
Where: GrowHUB, 2900 NE 8th Ave., Gainesville
Guided tours are scheduled during the event at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., and 11 a.m. Advance registration for tours is required. Register through this link.
The tours are suitable for all ages. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable shoes.
The event includes practical composting tips, interactive displays, and the opportunity to connect with local organizations that promote sustainability. Composting food waste is one of the most effective ways for individuals and communities to reduce waste, cut greenhouse gas emissions, and enrich local soils.
And some of them are still wearing MASK and outside too!
