Congresswoman Kat Cammack Shares Pro-Life Story Before Oversight Committee
Press release from the Office of Congresswoman Kat Cammack
Yesterday morning, Congresswoman Kat Cammack shared her pro-life story with members of the House Committee on Oversight & Reform. On a panel with four Democrats, Rep. Cammack told the story of how her mother decided to keep her pregnancy with her against the advice of doctors and her own family.
During the hearing titled “A State of Crisis: Examining the Urgent Need to Protect and Expand Abortion Rights and Access,” Rep. Cammack urged Democratic members of the committee not to glorify or normalize abortion.
“I was not supposed to be here…[y]ou can only imagine the anguish my mother felt when she was told to abort her child…[d]espite everything, she chose life,” said Rep. Cammack.
“My mom survived. I survived, and I am a living, breathing witness of the power of life. Knowing you were never supposed to survive gives you a new perspective about life,” she said.
Congresswoman Cammack thanks her Republican colleagues on the committee for protecting the unborn and the sanctity of life, despite growing attacks from congressional Democrats.
