County’s vegetative debris drop-off site closing
December 11, 2024
Press release from Alachua County
ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – The two residential drop-off sites for vegetative debris from Hurricane Helene will close at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 14, 2024. For any residents wishing to use these sites before they are closed, please remember to bring proof of residence, such as a utility bill and a driver’s license with a matching address. The residential drop-off sites are located at:
- NW Landfill – 15530 NW 173rd St., Alachua
- SW Landfill – State Road 24, 2.2 miles southwest of US 27, Archer (just past Archer Rural Collection Center site)
I’d be curious to know the number of people who loaded up their storm debris in their own vehicles and took it to these “drop-off sites.” I bet it’s very small. The whole idea sounds ridiculous.
When will they finish picking up the piles on the roadways?
