Crews respond to fire in woods near Celebration Pointe
Staff report
GAINESVILLE, Fla. – On Thursday evening, crews responded to a fire in the woods behind the Celebration Pointe parking garage
Just after 8 p.m. on March 26, crews from Alachua County Fire Rescue (ACFR) and Gainesville Fire Rescue responded to reports of a wildland fire. ACFR units arrived to find a 1-2-acre fire in the woods behind the Celebration Pointe parking garages.
Crews used chainsaws and brush trucks to gain access and bring the fire under control. The fire was contained with the help of the Florida Department of Forestry. No buildings were endangered. ACFR would like to remind citizens that the county is currently under a burn ban.

homeless camp??
They probably don’t get the memos and like many, are relocating to West Alachua County.
Remember the Palisades Fire was started by a homeless person. Does Alachua County actually think these homeless people care about a burn ban?
That was my thought. Homeless camp. MUST have a place for them to go.
