Dave’s Hot Chicken began in a parking lot in East Hollywood in 2017, and now this spicy sensation has over 205 restaurantĀ locationsĀ across the U.S., Canada, and the Middle East, with additional international locations coming soon. The embodiment of the American Dream, Dave’s story is one of scrappiness and determination. Founders Dave Kopushyan, Arman Oganesyan, and Tommy and Gary Rubenyan launched Dave’s Hot Chicken in a parking lot with $900 and a big dream. Today, that vision has turned into a global phenomenon that is now coming to take the Butler Shopping Center District by storm. This mouthwatering fast-casual dining experience has not only won over tastebuds across the United States but also received investment from notable names including Canadian rapper and singer Drake, influential musician Usher, and other A-list high-profile personas.

Dave’s Hot Chicken specializes in Hot Chicken Sliders and Tenders, along with sides of house-made Kale Slaw, creamy Mac n’ Cheese, and crispy French Fries. Offered at seven various spice levels ranging from No Spice to Reaperā„¢ (which requires a signed waiver for those who dare), each piece of juicy, hand-breaded chicken is spiced-to-order.

    • For real. I have to bribe my husband with a stop to Bass Pro Shop in order to travel to Archer Rd. What a FUBAR

  • Are they going into the “old” Birdies location that lasted about two months before closing down? This town is so saturated with food options that even football won’t be able to spread the dough around. Just like the massive amount of hotels with empty parking lots most of the time. I sure do miss the old Gainesville culture of being a laid back college town. It hard to be the center of the universe.

    • The hotels will be used year round if the abortion and recreational pot state referendums pass in Nov. Just don’t count on getting into a hospital then šŸ’©šŸ‘ŗšŸ‘暟¤”šŸ‘¹ACLU, D

      • Come on Jeff…you cannot compare a naturally growing plant with infanticide. Wtf

If you have a problem with that plant I hope you stay consistent and hate on all pharmaceuticals and alcohol and tobacco and junk food and on and on. Was it Reefer Madness or the newer pharma industry propaganda that made you hate the plant?

    • No, it’s where burger fi was. Iirc there is an Asian fusion place going into birdies

  • Just what we need. Another fast food chicken chain. That is sure to bring outside money into the area.

  • Sure, put it in Butler Plaza/Celebration Pointe where they have 7,000 other restaurants. Especially when all the students are moving right by campus. That makes a lot of sense!

  • Everyone hurry and rush to get there. Don’t forget the TUMS.
