Deeper Purpose Community Church launches Senior Citizen Ride Service

Press release from Deeper Purpose Community Church

HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – We are so pleased to announce that starting the first week in October, we will be expanding our Senior Citizen Services through our Outreach Ministry. It’s been on our heart for some time now, to be able to assist our local seniors, who need it, with rides to the grocery store, post office, bank, pharmacy, doctor’s appointments, pick up meals, and other related things.

There are many seniors in our immediate area who live alone, don’t have family close, or don’t have reliable transportation; they struggle to get a ride to do basic things that they need. Also, some don’t have the extra money to pay for gas for someone to take them around regularly. We want to help alleviate some of the stress of this for some of our local seniors in the High Springs area–as many as we are able to.

This coming week, we will be compiling a list of local seniors who could use this service. We will reach out to those that we talk to regularly and also ask that if you or a local senior you know could use this assistance, to please contact us here at Deeper Purpose Community Church, message us on our official Social Media Facebook or Instagram page, email us at deeperpurposecc@yahoo.com, or call us at 386-454-5300 and leave a message, if needed.

Each week we will let our regulars know what day we will be able to provide rides the following week  Due to scheduling and to help meet the needs of what the seniors have to do, the day may change each week, but everyone will know ahead of time. There will be absolutely no charge to the seniors for this service at all. We are just happy to be able to help and serve.

Our background-checked Church Staff will help from week to week with this, and we are excited to get it started. At this time, we are limited to picking up High Springs seniors only and will take them where they need to go in High Springs or Alachua for errands. Sometimes we will let them know ahead of time when we can make trips to Sam’s Club and possibly Walmart.

Please help us spread the word; we look forward to getting our seniors signed up, as we know the need is certainly there. The proposed time for this, starting out, will be one day weekly, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. We may also look at in the future trying to obtain a vehicle or small bus that would help us transport the disabled.

  • What an awesome thing to do! This church does so many wonderful things for the HS community ❤️
