Press release from Deeper Purpose Community Church

HIGH SPRINGS, Fla. – Deeper Purpose Community Church will be hosting Presents with the Police: A Kids Christmas Party on Wednesday, December 21, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the High Springs Civic Center.

Parents must register their kids to attend, and registration is NOW OPEN. There are 75 spots available for kids ages 3-12. To register, email deeperpurposecc@yahoo.com or message Deeper Purpose Community Church on Facebook.

This is a free event with the purpose of promoting more positive interactions and relationships with local law enforcement and our local community’s youth.

Indoor space is limited, and we can’t have more kids showing up the day of the party than we’ve prepared for, so don’t wait until the last minute to register. Spots are going fast. There are 75 spots open for children to attend, and they can be accompanied by one or both parents/ guardians.

There will be photos with Santa; possibly an Officer Santa; a catered lunch from Deeper Purpose Community Cafè, where children and families can sit and enjoy a meal with the police officers, talk, and interact with them; Christmas songs; Christmas music; and Christmas stories read by Officers.

There will also be special guest appearances and beautiful decorations, and all children in attendance will get to pick gifts from under the Christmas tree to open and/or take home. Kids will also get to decorate Christmas cookies and other fun activities with the Officers. Officers from the High Springs Police Department, Alachua Police Department, Alachua County Sheriff’s Office, FHP, and other agencies are being invited to participate.

Sponsors are welcome. Volunteers are needed. DPCC will be collecting toys and kids’ items from NOW up until the event.

  • What a wonderful idea to get kids and police together in a happy, relaxed atmosphere. Good for you High Springs.
