GAINESVILLE, Fla. – A broad coalition of Democratic leaders and progressive organizations is uniting behind Tina Certain in the race for Alachua County Commission, District 2, reinforcing her campaign’s growing momentum and the belief that she is the Democrat best prepared to deliver for Alachua County families.
Certain has earned the endorsements of the Democratic Progressive Caucus of Alachua County, Equality Florida, Ruth’s List Florida, Stonewall Democrats of Alachua County, Bishop Christopher Stokes, Pastor David Richardson, Micanopy Mayor Jiana Williams, and former City of Gainesville Commissioner Professor Thomas Hawkins.
The endorsements reflect a coalition that shares Tina’s vision of making everyday life more affordable, planning growth and infrastructure together, protecting clean water and neighborhoods, and ensuring county government delivers a fair return for every community. Those priorities are the foundation of her campaign.

A lifelong Alachua County resident, Certain spent 23 years at Gainesville Regional Utilities as a Certified Management Accountant before serving eight years on the Alachua County School Board. She is running for County Commission because she believes the conditions that shape families, housing, transportation, infrastructure, public safety, and environmental protection are all connected, and county government has a responsibility to address them together.

She couldnt make it with the school district, so she’s gonna try the county. Do not vote for this failure.
By any objective metric, Tina Certain was an utter, absolute failure on the Alachua County School Board, where she filled a seat for 8 years with absolutely zero accomplishments.
Her record was so poor that the State of Florida had to step in and call her out by name for her ignorant and outrageous behavior. A useless and complete embarrassment to the citizens of our county.
In a rational society, her poor judgement, abysmal track record in public office, lack of qualifications, overt racial bias, and non-existent leadership skills would disqualify her from city government, but hey, this is Gainesville–she’s guaranteed to be elected.
A complete failure as a school board leader. Once progressive democrat is mentioned that did it for me. We do not need a another democratic racist.

She will still be elected… probably by some homeless people who will get picked up FROM Grace to vote …
She looks tired and bitter, which is also how she sounds when she speaks at school board meetings
All the bumper sticker publishers are for Tina Certain. She’d be great for growing their industry here, while it declines everywhere else.
The problems that plague Dems isn’t in the public sector, it’s not a public matter. It’s their own personal, private lives, their family decisions and values. Including how they shift blame toward others.

Pat Ferrell conveniently forgot to mention her racial bias but he’s probably just playing along and encouraging others to just do as they’re told.
It’s a real shame, because focusing on hard work and personal responsibility—rather than handouts and redistribution—would likely do far more to improve an individual’s success. We’ve seen the ‘sucksess’ of her equitable distribution of tax funds to Eastside schools. Is that who you want dictating what happens with an almost billion-dollar County budget? Better remember that at the ballot box.
