Detour on U.S. 301 in Hawthorne scheduled on May 5 for CSX railroad crossing rehabilitation

HAWTHORNE, Fla. – A closure and detour will be in place on U.S. 301 at the railroad crossing between Southeast 73rd Avenue and Southeast 74th Lane in Hawthorne. The continuous closure is scheduled on Tuesday, May 5, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m., weather and unforeseen circumstances permitting.

Northbound U.S. 301 drivers will take northbound U.S. 441 to State Road 331 and follow it north to State Road 24 to access U.S. 301.

Southbound U.S. 301 drivers will take southbound State Road 24 to State Road 331 and follow it south to U.S. 441 to access U.S. 301.

  • That’s a strange detour note. They making it sound like 301 is blocked from Waldo to Reddick so take Waldo Road and Williston Road around Gainesville.
