Diyonne McGraw selected as School Board Chair for the coming year

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – During its annual reorganization meeting, the Alachua County School Board elected Diyonne McGraw as Chair for the next year, and Leanetta McNealy will be the Vice Chair.
After Superintendent Shane Andrew asked for nominations for Chair, outgoing Chair Tina Certain nominated outgoing Vice Chair Leanetta McNealy. McNealy thanked Certain but said, “At this time, I do need to decline.”
McNealy then nominated Member Diyonne McGraw as Chair, seconded by Certain; the board voted unanimously in favor of that nomination.
Member Kay Abbitt then nominated McNealy as Vice Chair, seconded by Certain; that nomination was also unanimously approved.
Committee assignments
During a discussion on committee assignments, Member Sarah Rockwell asked if someone else could take over as Legislative Committee Liaison because she has a schedule conflict with the meeting, and McGraw agreed to take on that assignment.
Abbitt said she was interested in being on the Children’s Trust Board, which is currently assigned to Certain. Certain said, “I want to continue to serve on it. So maybe next year we’ll entertain it and I’ll pass it to you. Maybe we’ll look at it then, but I’d like to continue with the Trust at this particular time.” Abbitt responded, “But I do want to look at it next year because I want to have an opportunity to serve on it while I’m still in office.”
If mcgraw reviews Robert’s Rules of Order for even 5 minutes she’ll be far ahead of the last dozen ‘chairs’ the board has had.
What a clown show… McGraw lied, was fired, and then was re-elected. This is the moral compass we are setting for the kids of Alachua county? Unreal…
And Trump lied, was fired, yet MAGAtards want to reelect him as a shining example to our kids.
What did Trump lie about, exactly? I hope you can produced examples that exceed the encyclopedia of lies that the Biden-Harris admin belches every day, such as:
– COVID shot prevents you from getting COVID, and from spreading the SARS II Corona Virus
– The Border is secure
– White Supremacy is the greatest threat to the USA (who are the mass murderers in 2021 – 2023?)
– There is no inflation problem
– Biden had no knowledge of Hunter’s foreign business dealings
– Biden never took a dime from foreign countries – ever…

So McGraw lies to get on the board, claims she couldn’t comprehend the legal rules, gets fired, re-elected! This is the type of moral compass we want for the kids of Alachua county? Just wow…
Test scores are going to skyrocket now.
Oh golly, another runaway train….
Maybe kids will listen to a motherly role model, and study, show up to class, on time and graduate too? Has this strategy worked in other school districts yet?
What a great example for Alachua County School Board to set for the kids. While the reading ,writing ,math and social skills tank downward every year, let’s disrupt the neighborhoods and relationships as much as we can with rezoning. And questionable leadership is perfectly fine. Citizens just pay your taxes and shut up.
I’ll give the new board a chance, for three meetings, just like I’m giving the new GRU board a chance for three meetings. After that, it’s time to make an assessment.
