ALACHUA COUNTY, Fla. – With Gainesville Police Department making domestic violence a priority, Alachua Chronicle will provide basic descriptions of domestic violence incidents as resources permit. The point is to familiarize our readers with the scope and scale of domestic violence in Alachua County, not to highlight the offenders. Names and booking photos of all of the offenders can be found in the daily Jail Booking Log.
Domestic violence arrests on June 11, 2026
- Deputies responded to a call from Linton Oaks, where the victim said she had been drinking with her boyfriend when she asked him to leave and he became angry and punched her. The victim’s lips were swollen and bloody.
- A four-year-old was transported to an emergency room after a man allegedly hit her across the face because he was angry over a toilet training accident. The victim said the man also hit her on her stomach and back. The victim had bruises across one side of her face, along with bruises on her legs and back. The man reportedly admitted that he hit the child out of frustration.

Was this man the little girls’ father, or was this an example of “it takes a village to raise a child”…
I am very glad they are tracking domestic violence. I do not condone it and penalty should be hard. I would also like to see the city of Gainesville track crimes against taxpayers by the homeless assault robberies. This would be a very interesting outcome. I would almost bet money their be more crimes against taxpayers by homeless than domestic violence.
